Kristin Ryan
In 2010, Kristin officially became a Hanson & Ryan employee, although she had been part of the family business since she could crawl. She graduated from the University of Tampa with a degree in Business and Art and also earned an Associate’s degree in Interior Design from the International Academy of Design and Technology of Tampa. While initially pursuing a career in design, she began helping out at her father’s insurance agency. As the saying goes, “Once you enter this family, there’s no getting out.”
Since joining Hanson & Ryan, Kristin has worked in various roles, from receptionist to claims, before ultimately finding her place in the commercial lines department. In this role, she enjoys meeting new people, learning about their professions, analyzing their specific needs, and providing tailored solutions to ensure they are properly protected. To enhance her expertise and better serve her clients, she became a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist in 2023.
In 2018, Kristin and her sister Carrie purchased Hanson & Ryan from their father, Terry Ryan. In addition to her role as COO of Hanson & Ryan, Kristin actively participates in industry associations. She currently serves as the Chairwoman of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America, New Jersey chapter.
Kristin lives in Wayne, NJ, with her two sons, Austin and Peyton, and their dog Charley. While balancing work and mom life can be challenging, she enjoys playing golf, cheering on the Yankees, Giants, and Devils, or traveling whenever she finds the time.
